PERSONAL THEORY OF ADDICTION

Kaitlin: Hello, my name is Kaitlin Kelly and I am a St. Francis Xavier University graduate who is now attending NSCC working towards my advanced diploma in Addictions Community Outreach. This blog was created for a program assignment which draws upon knowledge and resources from a variety of classes including case management, creating change conversations, concepts and theories of addiction and seminar. The purpose of this assignment to creating a personal theory of what ‘addiction’ is and how the field of addictions impacts us on an individual and community level. I am excited to share my connections and conclusions and to gain a better understanding of my own interpretation of addiction and how it will relate to my later work in the field.
